It's done! Finally! This was a 7 hour project to do.

...considering I almost exploded from cuteness overload a couple of times didn't help either. Oh, and i feel preety good about the shadows on this one. i like it. A lot.

...so if you don't have anything to say don't say it at all.

The concept of this in general is very cute, but I would like to give you a few standard pointers. We'll start with light source.

The bed's shadow clearly appears in front of it as opposed to stretching beneath it or to the side, giving it a backward or lopsided feel. As a result, the bed has an entirely separate light source than the rest of the room. The children also are a victim of this. While one child's shadow stretches behind him, the other seems closer. It would make sense if the nearer child had the shorter shadow, but in this case, the opposite is true.

Proportions are the second issue. The adults look of average size for assumed age, but the children - clearly on the same visible level as the adults - appear roughly the size of six or seven year olds as opposed to infants. A toddler at roughly one year of age will stand approximately 26-30" tall, which equates to approximately just over knee height on a woman of average height. Judging by the size of the children, they would stand nearly hip-height to Hinawa if she were to stand next to them.

Foreshortening is also an issue. The dog looks odd... squished, almost. As if the entire dog, from nose to tail, would take up less than a foot of space. The anatomy of the adults is a little shaky as well. A human head is of a size that will just about fit sideways on your chest if placed there. While Hinawa's proportions look more realistic, Flint's head appears too large for its body. To correct errors like these, I suggest looking at stock photography and anatomy books to get a good grip on the proportioning of the human body.

All in all, cute pic with errors that can be corrected with practice. Good luck and happy drawing!
